Support
Players aren’t the only ones who deserve to be reported. Sometimes, servers can go against the Minecraft End(er) User License Agreement. If you suspect that a server is doing something out of line, consider the following.

Familiarize yourself with our Minecraft Usage Guidelines. These guidelines explain how we allow commercial use of the Minecraft name, brand, and assets, including Minecraft servers. Support
We’re making a small change to improve Realms stability.

Recently, we discovered that a small number of Realms used the server-admin scripting module in creative ways and at a commercial scale that is incompatible with Realms technical architecture and the Microsoft Services Agreement. As this usage grew, it placed sustained load on the service and contributed to the recent instability and outages players experienced.

What’s changing

To improve the Realms experience, Realms will no longer support the server-admin scripting module.

Joining and playing on Realms will continue to work normally, but experiences that relied on the sever-admin scripting module may no longer function in the same way.

Why we’re making this change

Realms is designed to help bring together friends and small communities to play together.

Realms is not intended to be used for very large or commercial operations. This type of usage creates growth patterns and system load that impact overall service stability, especially during peak play times.

Who will be affected?

Most players won’t notice any change.

A very small subset of Realms that relied on the server-admin scripting module as part of their setup may be affected.

How this helps going forward

Removing the server-admin scripting module allows us to better manage scale and performance, and will help Realms be more stable and reliable for everyone.

Thank you

We know recent instability has been frustrating, and we appreciate the community’s patience.

Our focus is to keep Realms dependable and enjoyable for everyone, especially during high traffic periods.

Support
A symbolic link (or “symlink”) is a special file-system entry that points to another file or folder, letting a path in one location refer to content in a different location. Symbolic links can be useful for keeping Minecraft data (such as worlds, resource packs, or datapacks) in a different location than the default directories Minecraft uses.

Symbolic links are supported on the operating systems Minecraft: Java Edition runs on, but Minecraft may restrict following links unless you explicitly allow them by creating an exceptions file that Minecraft can reference.

How to create symbolic links

Creating symbolic links is done outside of Minecraft and may require using a command-line tool or file manager features, depending on your operating system.
